Hadley

September-December 2003

Yes, it's been a while since we updated the site. So, without further ado, Jamie and Molly Talbot are proud to present: Hadley Kane Talbot!

Yes, she's standing! She doesn't do it by herself (yet), and this is really more like leaning than standing, but we'll take it. (PS: Thanks to Elaine from Skadden for the super-cool hightops!)

The next two pictures require something of an explanation. You see, Hadley had two costumes for Halloween this year. Denise bought her the first of these two outfits, and Molly, not realizing this, went ahead and bought the second one.

So, Denise bought this pumpkin costume.

And Molly bought this ladybug costume. The way the hat pinches her face, I'm not sure I'd recognize her if I didn't know it was her!

That's a Cheerio, and it's the first time Hadley has eaten one! This means she is moving on to finger feeding herself, and it's step towards real, honest-to-goodness solid food (not like last time where "solid food" took the form of soupy cereal mixes). She's taken to them pretty quickly and now eats 5-10 per meal. It's not so much for sustenance as it is for learning how to pick up food with her fingers and put it in her mouth.

The Richi's gave Hadley this really cute rocking chair (and Emily Richi gave her some tres chic Gucci slippers). Thanks to the Richi's!

This is Hadley and Molly playing, obviously.

Teeth!

Hadley's first Thanksgiving! She didn't quite know what to do with the turkey leg.

It's starting to get chilly here in NYC, so when Molly, Hadley and I went for a walk today, we had to get her all bundled up. She looked so cute, we had to take this picture.

Ok, that's all for now, everyone. See you in 2004! (just kidding.....um....probably)

In honor of the Red Sox recent success....

We don't all root for the same team around here (the next few days promise to be full of good-natured jibes), but we only have one team's baby gear, so there you go.

Wow, people really seem to have taken a shine to this site. We've had many, many requests for more frequent updates. Alas, it's been a little busy around here recently (see the home page for more information about that), and we never really meant for this to become a 24 hour Hadley news channel, so, with apologies for the delay, here's what you've all been waiting for...

Hadley is wearing the pretty green dress Anna bought for her.

I love this picture.

These two were taken at Dinny and Pop's backyard on Cape Cod.

Hadley has taken to sleeping on her side these days, and to cozying up with her stuffed animals.

It's just so darn cute!

We all love the way Hadley's hair sticks up in the front, but it grew so long that it started falling into her eyes, so we took the opportunity to give her her first haircut.

We saved the hair, of course.

It had been a while before Hadley went to sleep on either of us, but she's been teething recently so we gave her some Tylenol and it hit her like a ton of bricks. I just was in the right place at the right time.

Back in August, Molly took Hadley to Sears to have some pictures taken of Hadley in their photo studios. They turned out surprisingly well!

In other news, even though we don't have pictures of it for the site, Hadley has taken some big steps (so to speak).

Finally, based on her most recent doctor's appointment, she is 28 inches long and weighs 17 lbs 12 ounces. Both of these measurements are way out to the right of the bell curve for children her age (97th and 87th percentiles, respectively - look at the CDC's chart to see the distributions). We're not bragging (it has nothing to do with us, other than showing that she eats well), but just thought you might be interested.
